Getting Started

How do I get started with WalnutsHR?+
Sign up for a free account, name your company workspace, and start adding employees. The entire setup takes under two minutes — no credit card required.
Is there a free plan?+
Yes! Our Free plan supports up to 10 employees and includes the employee directory, time off management, basic dashboard, and email notifications. It's free forever.
How do I invite my team?+
From your admin dashboard, go to Settings and send invite links via email. Each team member joins with the appropriate role (Admin, Manager, or Employee) and sees only what they're authorized to access.

Pricing & Billing

How much does the Pro plan cost?+
The Pro plan costs $8 per employee per month. You only pay for active employees in your organization.
Can I switch plans at any time?+
Absolutely. You can upgrade from Free to Pro at any time and your new features will be available immediately. If you need Enterprise features, contact our sales team.
Do you offer annual billing?+
Yes, annual billing is available at a discounted rate. Contact our sales team for details on annual pricing.
What happens if I exceed the free plan limit?+
If you need more than 10 employees, you'll be prompted to upgrade to the Pro plan. Your existing data stays intact — no disruption to your team.

What features are included in the Free plan?+
The Free plan includes an employee directory for up to 10 employees, time off management with approval workflows, a basic dashboard, and email notifications.
Does WalnutsHR support document storage?+
Yes, document storage is available on the Pro plan and above. You can upload contracts, IDs, payslips, and other HR documents with secure, role-based access control.
Can I generate reports?+
Advanced reporting is available on the Pro plan. You'll get headcount trends, hiring timelines, time-off breakdowns, and the ability to export reports as CSV or PDF.
Does WalnutsHR have an org chart?+
Yes! The Pro plan includes a visual org chart that's automatically generated from your team hierarchy. It always reflects your real team structure.

Security & Privacy

How is my data protected?+
We use multi-tenant data isolation with row-level security, encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, and comprehensive audit logging. Every organization's data is completely isolated at the database level.
Do you support SSO / SAML?+
SSO and SAML integration are available on our Enterprise plan. We use Clerk for authentication, which supports a wide range of identity providers.
Where is my data stored?+
Your data is stored on secure, SOC 2-compliant infrastructure. We use Supabase for our database, which provides enterprise-grade security and reliability.
Can I export or delete my data?+
Yes. You can export all your data at any time. If you close your account, your data is retained for 90 days for backup purposes and then permanently deleted.

How can I get help?+
Free plan users can reach us by email. Pro plan users get priority email support. Enterprise customers receive a dedicated support contact with SLA guarantees.
Do you offer onboarding assistance?+
WalnutsHR is designed to be self-service and easy to set up. However, Enterprise customers receive personalized onboarding and training sessions.
